Overview of Neck Lift Surgery

Neck lift surgery involves two procedures or techniques that aim to reduce the loose look of sagging skin and excess fat in the neck area and under the jaw line.

Risks and Complications

Swelling and bruising can last for several days. You may also feel tightness and/or numbness as well as other different sensations such as burning, pulling and itching. These should not be cause for concern as they are normal in the first few weeks following surgery.

Symptoms you should look out for and should be called to your surgeon's attention include unfavorable scarring, skin loss or tissue death, blood clots, skin discoloration, persistent edema or swelling, skin contour irregularities and recurrent looseness of skin.

In the event of the following conditions, contact the hospital immediately: the first sign of fever, unusual discharge such as pus from the incision site, chest pain, shortness of breath, unusual heartbeats and excessive bleeding.
