Nose Surgery Rhinoplasty Thailand

Starting From Only $639 AUD

Do you suffer from breathing problems because you were born with a problem nose? Or do you simply want a more elegant, contoured nose? Whatever the case, there's an effective, safe and lasting solution to your problems - Nose Surgery or Rhinoplasty. At Destination Beauty Australia, we not only work to answer your questions about the procedure, we help you find a qualified, experienced surgeon at a safe, certified hospital in Thailand to handle your specific case and do the procedure.

What is Rhinoplasty? Rhinoplasty, also known as nose reshaping or a "Nose Job," is a surgical procedure that improves the function or the appearance of the human nose. It can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or bridge and narrow the distance between your nostrils. The procedure can also restore skin coverage, recreate normal contours and re-establish nasal airflow. It's a fairly easy procedure and it's become very popular among Australians from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and everywhere in between.

Preparing for Rhinoplasty

Before taking the plunge, you'll want to be sure that you fully understand the procedure as well as the risks and complications that can go with it. During your free consultation with a real surgeon, we'll work with you to make sure to tell your surgeon what about your nose bothers you and to discuss with him your expectations and possible solutions. Aside from determining your overall fitness to undergo the procedure, your surgeon in Thailand will also evaluate the structures of your nose such as the underlying nasal bones and cartilage, your overlying skin and your other facial features.

Rhinoplasty at our partner hospitals - Yanhee International Hospital, Bangkok Phuket Hospital and others - is performed under general or local anesthesia. General anesthesia will leave you relaxed and asleep throughout the surgery while surgery with local anesthesia means you'll be awake, though relaxed and largely insensitive to pain and discomfort. Either way, the operation usually takes one to two hours to complete and will require a one to two night hospital stay depending on your specific procedure.

How Rhinoplasty is Done

Rhinoplasty begins when your surgeon makes an incision either inside the nose or across the skin (called columella), that separates the nostrils. The cartilage and the bone that comprise the framework of the nose are then exposed and sculpted to achieve your desired shape before the skin is repositioned. The surgeon will then stitch the skin back into place to complete the surgery. If the incision is made from inside the nose, there is often no visible scarring - possible some light scarring on the bottom of the nose that fades over time.

Post-Surgical Condition and Care

During the first few days following your surgery, you can experience side-effects that are normal and temporary. Your nose may ache, your face will feel a little puffy and you may have a dull headache. You can also experience a little bleeding during the first couple of days, but it shouldn't be major. Swelling and bruising around your nose will increase during the first two to three days but begin to taper off quickly and then disappear within two weeks. This sounds a little scary, but most people don't have much of a problem and in all cases the pain and discomfort will be controlled by pain medication.

Normally, you should be up and about after two days and then you can expect to be back doing your regular routine after a full week of rest and recovery. You'll need to be in Thailand (Bangkok, Phuket or wherever you choose to have your surgery done) for about 10 days, so you'll have plenty of time to relax. You'll just need to make sure you avoid rough activities that could cause you to strain your nose for two to three weeks.
